ICMT Conference 2022International Consortium on Manual Therapies (ICMT) Conference
The ICMT Conference brought together manual therapy researchers and practitioners in the fields of osteopathy, chiropractic, massage therapy, physical therapy, and structural integration. Initiated by the University of Arizona College of Medicine and the AT Still University, this conference initiated a productive collaboration across all manual therapy professions to advance both science and practice.
Teams of clinical, academic, and research professionals in each of the professions worked on preliminary reviews for two years. They presented their work and lead open discussions in the three areas:
- Objective description of manual therapy techniques,
- Theories of why those techniques have beneficial effects,
- Research evidence for or against those theories.
